
SYED RAIHAN-UL-ISLAM
Currently serving as the Deputy Director of International Affairs and Alumni Affairs at Daffodil International University (DIU), Bangladesh, with around 12 years of experience in internationalization. Built an extensive network of 600+ global partnerships for DIU across 70+ countries. Additionally, holding the role of Adviser for International Affairs at Assam down town University, India, and previously served as International Adviser at Biliran Province State University, Philippines, as well as Ambassador of the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS).
Since 2013, leading DIU’s international mobility programs, fostering global partnerships, scholarships, Erasmus+ projects, and international internships. Responsibilities include overseeing faculty, student, and staff exchanges, managing international relations and communications, and organizing summer and winter programs for international students. Beyond internationalization, coordinating alumni support and connectivity initiatives with a strategic vision. Also teaching as a part-time faculty member (Assistant Professor level) in the Department of English, delivering the course Employability 360, which equips students with career readiness skills.
An active member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators, USA. Traveled to 45+ countries, participated in over 65 international conferences, and global forums such as EAIE, APAIE, EEUA, AUAP, AUPF, EURIE, ATU-NET, etc. Led Erasmus+ projects (KA171, KA2 CBHE) at DIU and shared best practices through guest lectures and sessions at 10+ higher education institutions worldwide.
Previously, participated as an Erasmus+ Staff Scholar at Mykolas Romeris University, Lithuania (2022), İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi, Türkiye (2024), and served as a rapporteur for the ASEF Rectors’ Conference & Students’ Forum (ARC7) in 2019. Currently serving as Co-Convener of the Social Business Students’ Forum (SBSF) since 2024.
Beyond academia, passionate about creative content production. Since 2009, directed short films, documentaries, music videos, and TV programs, earning multiple local and international awards, including the Zahir Raihan Best Short Film Award-2011 for “Point of View”. A Senior Member of the Children’s Film Society Bangladesh (CFSBD) since 2011.
